Dynamic Routing Protocols – RIP, EIGRP:
This Course is design for networking beginners, who would like to peruse some certifications like CCNA. At the end of this course, you will gain foundation in routing protocols. There are various Routing Protocols have been developed, but very few are robustly adopted by industry. We will discuss and practice some of them along with this course.
We’ll cover basic operation, configuration & troubleshooting and some use cases of two very popular Routing Protocols which works on similar principles but had their own advantages.
The Oldest of distance vector IP Routing protocols still in use and getting enhanced. RIP currently exists in two versions. RIPv1 & RIPv2. RIPv1 is classful routing protocol, whereas RIPv2 is classless and IPv6 support is extended to RIPv2 with next generation RIP i.e. RIPng.
EIGRP is a Cisco-proprietary routing protocol. It is occasionally described as a distance vector routing protocol that acts like a link-state protocol.
Distance vector protocols share everything it know, but only with directly connected neighbors. Link-state protocols announce information only about their directly connected links, but they share the information with all routes in their routing domain or area.
