Course Description
Web services are client and server applications that communicate over the World Wide Web’s (WWW) HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP). As described by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), web services provide a standard means of interoperating between software applications running on a variety of platforms and frameworks.
Through this comprehensive course you would get a glimpse of Java/J2EE relevant for Web services course, core java highlights. We will go through the basics of Java Enterprise Edition, basics of XML used to understand web services. This section would form the basis of the web services. After this we would understand what are web services and why they are used, types of web services(JAX WS, JAX RS), WSDLs, SOAP and its handling, restful Web services, JAXB, binding XML Schema to Java Classes with JAXB, using JAXB. Next we will understand Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) under which we will understand its Services vs. Applications, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). In detail we would also study web services security, JAX-WS in Java application servers, straming API for XML, understanding and Running the XWS-Security Sample applications, Java XML Digital Signature API, using the Service Registry Web Console, developing Clients for the Service Registry, administering the service registry.
After end of the course, the participants will have complete knowledge of programming web services in java. By using Web services, your application can publish its function or message to the rest of the world. Web services use XML to code and to decode data, and SOAP to transport it (using open protocols).
